Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply tintural paints in bathroom or kitchen ?

Natural Paints are not suitable for interior wet areas and are best for low-traffic rooms. In heavy traffic areas and areas that may be exposed to occasional splashing, you can use tintural's Aqua Protection as a light protective finish coat.

Can I apply my product in all weather conditions ?

No, limewash paints are sensitive to extreme cold and heat. The ideal temperature for use is between 7 and 27° C. And you can not apply lime coat when raining, make sure the weather forecast does not call for rain in the 48 hours following application.

how long do I have to wait between 2 coats ?

Wait a minimum of 6-8 hours between coats.Respect stipulated drying times. It is imperative to have a fully dry surface before applying the next coat.

Are tintural paints 100% natural ?

Multi primer & paint for Burnished finish is 96% natural ingredients, virtually VOC FREE (less than 0.58gr/l.)

Do I need roller or brush to achieve this look ?

For burnished finish you need a limewash brush AND a trowel

Can I use tintural lime paints outside ?

Multi primer & paint for Burnished finish can be used in interior and exterior.

How to proceed for a burnish effect ?

-first, determine whether the surface can be split to accommodate wall angles, decorative elements or light.

- depending on ceiling height, set a work surface to avoid making stripes.

-for the third coat of paint, use a slightly more diluted (but not too diluted) mixture to give a wider opening.

- use a stainless steel float (stucco float) with a flexible or semi-rigid blade. No sponges, no plastic smoothers.

Don't wait until the paint is too dry to iron, but there's no precise rule because it depends on the substrate and ambient temperature (I'd say 15 to 20 minutes). The aim is to crush the mixture without tearing it.

If the wall is really big, you can work in pairs: one paints and the other applies.

But for a concrete effect, all you need to know is that it's the way you cover the wall during the first two coats that determines the result.  As a general rule, the smaller the movements, the more "crushed" the effect.

The smoother must not tear off layers of paint, and the opening angle must be fairly shallow (15° to 20°) to exert sufficient, even force.

You can use a water sprayer, but with care.

What will I receive in my package ?

You will receive all products you need to achieve the finish: MULTI primer & paint, quantity of pigment required for the chosen colour and quantity of primer & paint, how-to guide and technical sheet.

If you have added tools to your order, they will come in your package too.

Should the primer/ base coat be tinted and how many paint coats are required ?

We recommend tinting the primer, 3 coats are required to achieve Burnished finish.
