Why using lime paint ?

Lime paint is made from natural ingredients such as hydrated lime and mineral pigments. It is free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs), makingit an eco-friendly and healthychoice for yourinterior. By opting for lime paint, you contribute to reducing your carbon footprint while creating a non-toxic indoor environment.Lime paint is highly permeable to water vapor. It allows walls to "breathe" by regulating humidity, helping to avoid moisture and condensation problems.offers a matte, velvety finish that captures light in a soft and natural way. Each application is unique, with subtle shades and textures that add character and depth to painted surfaces. The pigments added by Tintural allow for infinite color customization to suit all styles and ambiances.

Do you create custom colour ?

Yes we do! Our paints come untinted with the pigments separately to make the chosen colour. The beauty of tinting with pigments is that you can do small test patches and from there darken/lighten or completely change colours. If you have a picture of the colour you would like to achieve or wish to, send us a picture of the area you are looking to paint, we can help recommend some colours (& pigments) to match the floor, trim colour,  etc.  We can help you along way to adjust the colour until you achieve your perfect tint.

Please note that we cannot reproduce other paint company's colours since our paint are made with natural pigments and not synthetic colours. If you require help colour matching, please email us a picture of the colour that you would like and we will help you select a colour.

May I use a commercial primer from Can Tire or Home Depot instead of a Tintural base-coat ?

It is not recommended to use a commercial primer with Tintural paints as we cannot guarantee the product will adhere properly. Tintural primers are designed specially to allow the adhesion of natural paints to synthetic substrates. It creates a porous support, unlike commercial primers & paints. For example, Methylcellulose acts as a glue, the grain provides a mechanical grip and the resin sticks between the natural and the synthetic.

Can Tintural primers be used under a non-tintural lime paint ?

Yes. You can make/use your own lime paint and use Tintural primers. The MULTI primer & paint is the most appropriate for lime coatings/paint. Lime-based primers/paints are grainy, for better adherence. Our primer can be applied directly to drywall or with some resin on an already painted surface.

How do I proceed to mix the pigment to paint or primer ?

❶ Measure equal amounts of lukewarm water and paint powder. EX: for 1 kg of powder measure 1L (4 cups) of water | for 4 kg powder measure 4L (16 cups) of water. Prepare enough mixture to paint one coat of your project’s full surface. Set aside.

❷ Take an empty clean bucket. Ensure the container is properly sized. It is recommended to use a bucket twice the size of the amount of powdered paint you intend to mix.

❸ Pour pigment into empty bucket. Add approximately a quarter of the water measured in step 1 and stir until the pigment is fully dissolved. Pour in the remaining water and mix.

❹ Slowly add powdered paint to the bucket while stirring continuously.

❺ Mix with a hand/electric whisk or concrete mixer until completely homogeneous and lump free. Let the mixture sit for 1 hour to ensure proper absorption of the water.

❻ Thoroughly mix prior to application
